Paneer Butter Masala or paneer makhni is an easy and simple side dish that augers well with Roti/ chapathi and Naan. It's pretty quickly done and requires not more than 20 minutes if you can multi-task a bit :)
I happened to make homemade paneer a few days ago and my better half craved for this side dish :) Plus you know what? You don't have to deep fry the paneer.. you could shallow fry it and still get the crispy bite.
By the way it reminds me of a shayari about paneer that I want to share with you here :)
Doodh Ka Paneer
Jeevan Mein Vipatti
Aaye to Aapatti mat keejiye :)
Kyon ki
Doodh Fatne par wohi log
udhaas hote hain
Jinhe Paneer Banana nahi aata!
meaning..
When adversities strike you in life.. don't be disheartened by it, instead make the most of it.. just like how you make Paneer out of curdled milk :) :)

2. In a pan, add jeera/ cumin, clove, cinnamon, ginger, onion and saute until transperant. Add tomatoes and fry for a minute until they turn gooey. Now add Garam masala, turmeric, red chilli powder and dhaniya powder and fry for another minute until everything mixes well. Allow it to cool.
3. Grind the paste and add it to a pan heated with one teaspoon oil. Boil for a minute or two until the oil separates out. Now add paneer to it. Sprinkle a pinch of kasoor methi and also add fresh cream and mix well. Enjoy it with chapathi. It goes well with jeera rice too:)

- Paneer can also be boiled in hot water, if you dont want to shallow fry it.
